THE PRIORY

"King Edward’s beach with the priory in the background. Kath and I have discovered dipping & occasionally swimming ! In the sea during lockdown. We began in the summer and continued right through the winter including a 8am dip on Christmas Day when the temperature was -1 ! Each time we go it’s like a different adventure the beach looks so different everyday we’ve watched sunrises, moonrises, seagulls stealing sandwiches, sausages off barbecues and a girl frantically running behind a seagull which had stolen her car keys and taunted her by dropping them in the sea ! Fortunately they were recovered by a group of lads in the sea. Kath’s bike in the photograph has been part of the landscape and a symbol of the anticipation of our dips ! We’ve met some wonderful people along the way who all share the same passion of submerging our swimsuit clad bodies into the cold sea!"
